TRACKING OF THE SPECIES
HAUTE COUTURE COLLARS
THIS AIN’T NO LOKET FROM GRANDMA — Rather, it’s a bold, beautiful way to call to arms.
Haute couture collars that reference tracking collars that are fitted to wild tigers. Tracking gear for wildlife helps save animals in peril. The Tracking of the Species collars are engraved with a number corresponding to a tiger currently being tracked.
Working with the Midwestern Regional Director of World Wildlife Fund, DeKeyser conceived the project. The aim is to raise the issue and generate funds to help protect and save these majestic animals from extinction.
Tigers fit with GPS tracking collars can be accurately located every half-hour. This helps scientist better understand tiger ecology and how the species adapt to their ever-changing environments.
Animal tracking collars have already proven successful in effectively catching poachers who trap, kill and sell tigers. Today, poaching is the number one reason that tiger populations are dying. Funding is desperately needed to help stop these rampant killings.
